 The Initiative

IET Group is a specialised company founded in 2006  to address the growing demand for reputable project management services and technology resources.  

On the back of delivering extremely complex projects within major events, IET was launched to provide similar, dependable services for the wider market in a reliable and flexible manner.

In addition, there is a growing requirement for technology related professional services within the major events industry - including consultancy, resource provision and knowledge transfer.   IET offers a complete services solution. 

With the current high expectations for the professional delivery of all IT projects conflicting with tight timelines and budgets, it is the knowledge and experience imparted by IET’s people that will reduce costs and ensure successful and on time delivery.
 

 Leadership & People

Mathew Peterson - Managing Director

Mathew is an experienced and respected professional and entrepreneur with over 14 years experience in the Information Technology and Communications industry gained from large corporations and major international events.   

With a convincing career history across complex IT roles in the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia Mathew has a track record with companies including KPMG, Barclays and Citibank and at major international events including summer and winter Olympic Games.

Most recently, Mathew provided technology management consulting to IET's client, Thales Australia, for the APEC 2007 year held across Australia.  For three years Mathew lead a large team as the Head of Venue Technology for the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.  He has previously held technology manager positions within the Organising Committees for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games and the 2002 Football World Cup. 

In addition to managing IET, Mathew provides strategic consulting and management right across the technology spectrum given his major event technology management experience and technical background.  Over the past eight years, his extensive experience within the Olympic, Commonwealth Games and other international event technology arenas has led him to the forefront of the industry.  He has widespread contacts within the major events and IT industries.

IET draws upon a quality selection of consultants and project managers around the world that are specialists within both the information technology and major event industries.
